Future Foragers
(disclaimer: this is not a real National Trust project)

‘Future Foragers’ was a self-led project that encouraged us to create a piece of work for our dream future clientele. I centred my research around the National Trust, although this type of project would work for any estate, nature trail, or historical site that use trails to guide visitors around.

This work specifically is a trail that could be used by National Trust (as you can see around the map) in order to encourage children to be more involved and excited in looking around an estate. I wanted to keep a ‘treasure map’ feel, while also tailoring it to the aesthetic of the National Trust.

The frame around the map is transparent, so can be used repeatedly for different maps or other purposes, making it an economically-friendly design for a potential client.

The spot illustrations and map are based around a specific National Trust site,

Bateman’s

(the former home of Rudyard Kipling) in Sussex.
